Costs & planning

Compare hospital bed rental quotes side by side

Put two written offers in the same place. See the known costs, the charges still missing and the terms to settle before choosing a supplier.

First confirm that both offers cover the same dates and suitable equipment. Then compare the billed periods, minimum commitment and all required fees. A blank charge means unconfirmed; enter $0 only when the supplier confirms it is included or free.

  • Weekly, 28-day, 30-day and monthly billing stay separate.
  • Missing fees prevent a complete price comparison.
  • Deposits are displayed separately from rental expenses.
TWO QUOTES. ONE CLEAR COMPARISON.

Compare your rental offers.

Use each supplier’s quoted billing periods for the same dates. Include recurring extras in the rate. Enter other expenses, including tax, once under “All other costs.”

Blank means unknown. Enter 0 only when a charge is confirmed as included or free.

Offer A
Offer B

This tool stays in your browser. No booking, supplier inquiry or insurance decision is made. Do not enter medical or payment details.

Make sure the two offers are for the same job

Write the required frame, mattress and features at the top of each quote. Compare the exact equipment or a substitute already agreed with the person coordinating care. Similar photographs, names or capacity labels do not establish that two packages meet the same requirements.

Use one intended start and end date for both suppliers. Ask each to state the number of billing periods that covers those dates and any minimum commitment. Enter those quoted counts in the tool; it does not convert weeks into calendar months or decide how a contract counts partial periods.

Confirm on both offersWhy it changes the comparison
Equipment and mattressOne rate may include a mattress that the other sells separately
Dates and minimum termA short stay may still require a longer paid period
Address and accessStairs or an outer delivery zone may add charges
Setup and collectionA doorstep delivery is not a complete installation

Ask the supplier to fill every cost line

Include any recurring mattress or accessory rental in the rate per billing period. Put all other required expenses for the full stay in extras, including a one-time mattress purchase and applicable tax. Do not count the same charge in both places. The comparison is private to your browser and does not send a quote request.

Homepro’s listed standard bed rental excludes the mattress, which is sold separately. That is a concrete example of why a complete mattress line matters. Use the supplied quote to identify whether your own mattress is rented, purchased or included.

  • Delivery and assembly, including confirmed access surcharges.
  • Collection and dismantling, if charged.
  • All other required expenses for the full rental term.
  • Refundable deposit or card hold, shown separately.

Read a subtotal differently from a confirmed total

If delivery, collection or extras is blank, the tool shows only the known subtotal and lists the missing amounts. It will not select a cheaper quote from incomplete charges. A missing deposit does not change the known rental expense, but it leaves the additional cash requirement unresolved.

Even with complete fees, the lower-cost message appears only after you confirm that both quotes cover the same dates and required equipment. It compares entered expenses, not supplier quality, clinical suitability or insurance eligibility. A lower number cannot resolve an incompatible mattress or an unavailable delivery slot.

Illustrative example: a $200 rate billed twice plus $150 delivery and $50 collection totals $600. A $250 rate billed twice with both trips included totals $500. With no other expenses, the second offer costs $100 less even though its headline rate is higher. These are invented planning numbers.

Compare the terms the calculator cannot price

Ask what happens if you need another week, return early, change address or need a repair. Identify the cancellation cutoff, the collection notice period and the event that stops billing. Keep these answers with the quote; they can matter more than a small difference in the initial total.

Medical Supplies Services requires at least 48 hours to arrange pickup and allows additional charges for a changed return location. Those are examples from one agreement, not rules that apply to all rentals. Obtain the corresponding terms for both of your offers.

Keep insurance estimates separate

A published private-pay rate and an insurer’s estimated share are different numbers. If a plan is involved, ask which supplier and equipment it covers, whether approval is needed and what you are expected to pay. Medicare requires an enrolled supplier for covered equipment.

Use comparable written estimates in the tool. It does not determine coverage, calculate coinsurance or promise that a supplier’s retail charge will be reimbursed. Save the agreement and itemized quote before paying.

Common questions

Can I compare a weekly quote with a monthly quote?

Yes, if each supplier has confirmed the billed periods covering the same dates. Enter each original billing unit and count. The tool does not assume that four weeks equals a calendar month.

What should I enter for a fee that is included?

Enter 0 only when the supplier confirms that line is included or has no charge. Leave it blank if you do not know; the result will identify the missing amount.

Is the cheaper result a recommendation?

No. It is a comparison of the entered non-refundable expenses after your dates-and-equipment confirmation. Availability, service, suitability and rental terms still need a separate decision.

Sources & approach

Based on linked supplier, manufacturer and public-agency information. This is source-based research, not hands-on testing or a clinical assessment. Confirm current equipment, terms and availability with the supplier; discuss equipment suitability with your care team.
