Ask for a written total for your expected stay and a second total if you need another week. Confirm the minimum charge, renewal period and pickup deadline before choosing the shorter advertised rate.
- Keep the supplier’s original billing period in your comparison.
- A monthly price can cost less than two separate weeks.
- Early collection does not automatically produce a refund.
Start with exact dates and billing units
Write down the first day you need the bed, the expected last day and how uncertain that end date is. Ask whether the charge covers calendar days, nights, a calendar month or a fixed number of days. Check the start time and the deadline for returning the equipment.
ACG’s Dallas–Fort Worth Basic Recovery Package is $350 for 1–30 days, including a full-electric bed, foam mattress, half rails and transport. It is a package price; dividing it by 30 does not create a bookable daily rate. Deposit and cancellation terms need a quote.
Check the minimum and the next renewal
NC Mobility, serving North Carolina’s Triangle and other named areas, has a three-day minimum and weekly or monthly options. Its bed price, mattress package and address-specific transport total need confirmation.
Atlantic Healthcare Products offers full-electric bed periods of 3, 7, 14 or 28 days in Palm Beach County, Florida. Its FAQ says the rental then automatically renews for 28 days. A card must stay on file. Scheduled delivery is $45; immediate dispatch is $120, subject to arrangement. Collection charges and the amount held as a deposit are not specified in that FAQ. Get the exact bed price for your chosen period; the displayed starting amount does not identify one.
Compare two realistic totals
Medirect publishes $165 per week and $255 per month for its premium full-electric package with foam mattress and rails. Two weekly charges total $330 before transport and other applicable charges, so asking about the monthly option matters. This calculation does not establish an automatic discount or a right to switch plans after delivery.
Use the same bed package and dates for each quote. Keep optional accessories separate so that a low frame-only price is not compared with a complete room setup.
- Initial payment: minimum rental charge, required mattress or accessories, delivery, setup, collection and applicable tax.
- Possible extra week: extension rate, notice deadline and any additional transport visit.
- Money held separately: deposit or card authorization, release conditions and expected timing.
Read cancellation and early-return rules separately
NC Mobility lists no cancellation charge at 48 or more hours, 50% at 24 hours and 100% on the scheduled day or for a no-show. The wording leaves the 24–48-hour interval unclear. After delivery, its policy allows a refund of half the unused rental time. Confirm how the dates and amount are calculated.
Other suppliers may offer no unused-time credit. Ask what happens if admission is postponed, delivery becomes impossible or you need the bed longer. Record the answer with the quote, including the required way to give notice. A changed care plan does not itself cancel a rental agreement.
Plan the final day before the first delivery
Arrange access for both trips. Give the supplier the floor, steps, elevator restrictions and someone who can receive or hand over the equipment. Ask who dismantles the bed and which parts must be returned. Keep the collection confirmation with the rental paperwork.
Confirm the deadline for requesting collection separately from the day the truck will arrive. Atlantic’s FAQ asks customers who paid for delivery and pickup to call or text. Ask how far ahead you should do this and how to prevent another renewal while waiting for collection.
Common questions
Is a weekly rental always the cheapest short-term option?
No. Compare the complete charge for your dates. Medirect’s published monthly bed rate is below the cost of two separate weeks, but transport and contract terms still need to be included.
Can I return the bed early and stop paying?
Only according to the rental agreement. NC Mobility offers a partial unused-time refund; other arrangements may not. Obtain the supplier’s calculation and collection confirmation before assuming money will be returned.
