A few details shared before delivery can prevent a second trip. Use this checklist with the rental supplier and the person coordinating your care.
Confirm exactly what is arriving
Request the model, overall dimensions and the complete included-equipment list. Overall bed dimensions are different from mattress dimensions. Ask whether the bed arrives assembled or in sections, and who is responsible for setup.
Describe the route into the room
Measure the narrowest doorway and tell the supplier about stairs, tight turns, lift access and building booking requirements. Ask the supplier to confirm that its delivery team can complete the route. A room photograph can help, but do not include private medical documents in it.
Agree on the room arrangement
Your care team and supplier can help determine appropriate access around the bed. Identify a suitable power outlet and keep the planned delivery route clear. Have the supplier confirm the location before moving heavy furniture.
Walk through the handover
Ask for the manufacturer’s instructions and a demonstration of the controls, brakes and relevant accessories. Confirm the number to call if something stops working. Bed, mattress and rails need to be compatible; do not assume a separately purchased accessory will fit.
Plan collection at the same time
Keep the contract and collection number together. Note the notice period, whether pickup is included, and the date another rental period would begin.
